Our school is, in my opinion, one of the best around. Every morning, before the school day starts, the Kindergarten through 5th grade meets in the gym, for what is called "Spirit Meet" The children do the Pledge, sing songs, share special things, awards are given, birthdays are celebrated, and anouncements are made for the day. There is also a "Theme" picked each year. This years theme is "Super Stars". Each month a different letter represents a theme for the month. This months theme is "Self Awareness". The junior high students (6th-8th) were asked to vote for someone who represents self awareness to them. Due to his work with families and children, they chose Dr. Phil. Well, apparently CBS and Dr. Phil heard of this, and were quite intrigued. Dr. Phil has made the trip to NYC and has invited our 6th, 7th, and 8th graders to a luncheon tomorrow to meet them and talk. It will be filmed, and although I am unsure if it will be a news spot on CBS, or a spot on Dr. Phil, it will be televised. Both Connor and Yori will be attending. They are so excited.
